When Does Your Car Need a Tune Up?
If your car is in its early days and is still functioning properly, then it is probably in great shape. However, even the best cars will eventually reach their breaking point and need to be maintained to prevent mechanical or electrical problems. If you take your car in once you notice it bucking or sputtering, or if you’re having problems getting it to start, then your mechanic may suggest a tune up service. However, if you’ve been having problems with the car that you can’t seem to solve, then it’s probably time for a new engine. Below are 3 of the signs that you need a new engine for your car.
Excessive Repair Costs
One of the first signs that your car may need a tune-up is that the repair costs are getting higher and higher. If you’re already spending more on repairs than you previously were, then it’s a good idea to have the car checked out by a mechanic. The mechanic will be able to determine the cause of the problem and fix it accordingly. Additionally, if the car is failing to perform under certain conditions, then you may be able to prevent these problems from getting any worse.
Aging Engine
If you’re looking at a car that is at least 7 years old and you’re having issues, then it’s best to get it checked out by a mechanic. While an old engine is a common problem, it doesn’t mean it’s easy to fix. If a mechanic determines that your engine is in need of replacement, it may be because it has reached its breaking point. This is because the engine will be unable to repair itself when it reaches its breaking point.
Cracking Engine
Even if your car has reached its breaking point and needs a tune-up, it doesn’t mean it’s time to say goodbye to your car. Your mechanic will be able to determine if your car has reached its breaking point and if it does, then you have no other choice but to replace it. However, if your car has cracks and is otherwise still in good shape, then it’s probably time to replace it with a newer model
